Walters Wholesale Electric Company, an affiliate of USESI, is seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy HR Intern to join our team in Brea, CA.
This is a great opportunity for someone early in their HR career who enjoys working with systems, organizing information, and building efficient processes from the ground up.
Hours: Part-Time; In-Person
Key Responsibilities:
Track and manage employee training completion using tools such as Excel, Microsoft Lists, or similar systems; follow up with employees and managers to ensure deadlines are met.
Support onboarding processes by organizing new hire documentation, maintaining checklists, and helping ensure a smooth and consistent experience for all new employees.
Assist in building and maintaining tracking systems for HR processes, including training, onboarding, and compliance-related activities.
Help establish and improve HR workflows by identifying gaps, organizing manual processes, and recommending more efficient solutions.
Audit and maintain HR records (I-9s, employee files, training records) to ensure accuracy and compliance with company and legal requirements.
Assist in creating and updating process documentation, SOPs, and simple guides to support consistency across HR activities.
Provide general administrative and project support to the HR team, with a focus on organization, data accuracy, and process improvement.
Skills and Qualifications:
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
Strong interest in HR operations, systems, and process improvement.
Comfortable working with data and tracking tools; intermediate Excel skills (sorting, filtering, basic formulas) required.
Experience with Microsoft Lists, Power Automate, or similar tools is strongly preferred.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail, especially when managing multiple trackers and deadlines.
Ability to follow structured processes while also identifying opportunities to improve them.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
Professional, proactive, and eager to learn with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
