POSITION SUMMARY

Tomorrow’s Talent is seeking a creative, motivated, and mission-driven Graphic Design Intern to support the development of visual materials that help bring our programs, partnerships, and student-centered work to life.

This internship is designed for someone who is interested in gaining real-world experience in graphic design, branding, marketing, communications, and nonprofit/workforce development storytelling. The Graphic Design Intern will assist with creating and updating flyers, social media graphics, presentations, event materials, program documents, and other branded content that supports Tomorrow’s Talent’s work with students, schools, employers, and community partners.

This role is ideal for someone who is creative, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and excited to use design as a tool to inspire, inform, and make a difference.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the creation of branded graphics for flyers, social media posts, presentations, reports, training materials, event materials, and program communications.

• Update and format existing design materials to align with Tomorrow’s Talent’s brand guidelines, tone, and visual identity.

• Assist with creating visual assets for student programs, workforce readiness trainings, employer engagement activities, school partnerships, and community events.

• Support the design of materials for digital and print use, including one-pagers, handouts, invitations, certificates, signage, and promotional graphics.

• Help prepare graphics and templates for social media, newsletters, presentations, and website updates.

• Collaborate with team members to understand project goals, audience, messaging, and design needs.

• Make revisions based on feedback and ensure final materials are clear, accurate, accessible, and professional.

• Organize and maintain design files, templates, graphics, photos, and brand assets.

• Support basic photo editing, layout adjustments, formatting, and visual cleanup as needed.

• Assist with event or program-related design needs before, during, or after assigned activities.

• Contribute creative ideas that help strengthen the look, feel, and consistency of Tomorrow’s Talent materials.

• Complete internship learning assignments, check-ins, and project documentation as required.

• Support additional marketing, communications, administrative, or design-related tasks as assigned.

REQUITED QUALIFICATIONS

• Current enrollment in high school, college, career training, or a related internship/work-based learning program preferred.

• Interest in graphic design, marketing, visual communications, digital media, branding, or a related field.

• Basic experience using design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Slides, PowerPoint, or similar platforms.

• Strong attention to detail and willingness to revise work based on feedback.

• Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and communicate progress clearly.

• Creative, dependable, organized, and open to learning.

• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while staying connected to team expectations.

• Ability to handle internal materials, partner information, and project files with care and professionalism.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience creating flyers, social media graphics, presentations, posters, or other visual materials.

• Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, or similar design platforms.

• Interest in education, workforce development, youth programs, community engagement, or nonprofit communications.

• Basic understanding of social media platforms and digital content formatting.

• Portfolio, school project samples, or examples of prior design work preferred, but not required.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This internship is primarily remote and requires the ability to work effectively from a home-based workspace. The intern may also be asked to support occasional in-person activities at the Tomorrow’s Talent office in San Bernardino, school sites, partner locations, or events as needed.

While performing the duties of this internship, the intern may be required to:

• Use a computer and design software for extended periods

• Participate in virtual meetings and project check-ins

• Communicate verbally and in writing

• Review, edit, and organize digital files

• Occasionally support in-person events or activities if assigned

Internship Hours and Schedule

This internship is designed to provide 200 total hours of work-based learning experience. The schedule will be determined based on program needs, project timelines, and intern availability. Hours may vary from week to week and must be approved in advance by the assigned supervisor.

Employment Classification

This position is classified as an internship opportunity. If paid, the position is non-exempt and subject to applicable wage and hour requirements. The internship does not guarantee continued employment after completion of the 200-hour experience.
