Work Schedule: 12 months
Location: Onsite and Remote Office
Position Summary: Under the direction and supervision of the Systems Integration (IT) Manager, the Software Application Clerk will perform a variety of technology and computer-related duties to assist in the school-wide technological operations. This role involves providing support for applications used in a virtual charter school, assisting students and personnel with their application-related needs, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the educational technology ecosystem. The Software Application Clerk will be responsible for application management, integration, and support. The Software Application Clerk can have a significant impact on the school by ensuring seamless access to educational applications and enhancing the virtual learning experience for students and teachers. They are crucial in customizing sections and sharing data, enabling personalized curriculum and efficient data management. By providing technical support, troubleshooting, and resolving application-related issues, they contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the school's educational technology ecosystem.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Information Technology
- Securely organizes and uploads custom data to single-sign-on and rostering applications like Clever, or learning management system applications such as Canvas, and other applications as needed based on learning program needs
- Collaborates with teachers and administrators to understand and implement specific curriculum requirements
- Ensures accurate and timely creation of custom rosters for data sharing through Clever and Canvas
- Documents procedures for application management, assignment, and licensing
Data Management and Integration
- Manages data shared with Clever apps as students, teachers, and administrators place purchase orders (POs) and as needed by other school departments
- Consolidates student accounts and enables individual access to applications based on student needs
- Facilitates data integration to enable a unified class view for teachers across three different schools
Application Support
- Provides technical support to users, including troubleshooting and resolving application-related issues
- Collaborates with teachers, administrators, and IT team members to identify and address system bugs, glitches, or inefficiencies
- Stays up-to-date on the latest features and functionalities of the supported applications and provides relevant support to end-users using the help desk
Other Duties
- Responds to all school-related written correspondence, phone calls, voicemails, and emails within 24 business hours
- Refers all formal disciplinary actions involving students and staff to school management, ensuring compliance with the school’s Uniform Complaint Policy and the school’s Uniform Technology Policy; addressing and resolving complaints from students, parents, and staff in a timely manner; and complying with the provisions of California Penal Code Section 11166 (Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act)
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE

Education:
- Associates in Information Technology degree or related field and/or comparable combination of education and skills necessary to perform the functions of the Software Application Clerk position
Experience:
- 6 months - 1 year of proven experience in application support or a similar role, preferably within an educational setting
- Proficiency in using spreadsheets and formulas in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets to securely manage, organize, and create reports
- Knowledge of learning management systems (LMS) and Student Information Systems (SIS)
- Excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to troubleshoot and resolve application-related issues
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with teachers, administrators, and IT team members
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Adaptability to evolving technology and willingness to learn new applications and systems
Other Qualifications:
- State and federal fingerprint clearance (Live Scan) to work with students (Ed. Code 44237). No prospective employee can report to work without this clearance being received and the Human Resources Manager notifying the immediate supervisor of this clearance.
- Proof of a clear TB Tine test or signed Certificate of Completion dated within the last 60 days (Ed. Code 49406) upon employment and thereafter updated every four years
- Hold and maintain a valid California Driver’s License, proof of automobile insurance, and full-time use of a dependable automobile that is insured pursuant to California regulations.
